Testimonies About Sandra Steele

*March 2008*
"Last night and today we had seven candidates to campus for the Richardson scholarship, one of if not the most prestigious scholarship we award.  This is named and supported by Jerry Richardson’s family, who is a Wofford graduate and is currently owner of the NFL Carolina Panthers.  When we went to dinner I was seated beside Tom Parnell, father of Sam.  Shortly after meeting, he mentioned what a big help you had been, and how instrumental you were in getting them to look at Wofford.  Of course, I told him about Brendan Posterick, the Phillips twins, and Julia Ambler.  I certainly enjoyed meeting both of them and they plan to spend the weekend here to get a better feel. Thanks again for sending some wonderful families and students to check us out."
- B. Terrell Ball, Associate Director of Admissions Wofford College

"Our NCL class would like to thank you for taking the time to talk to us about our future education plans. Our parents appreciate the handouts you gave us too."

"Thank you so much for coming to visit with our seniors at St. Ignatius.  I’m still hearing great feedback from the students and parents regarding your presentation on college preparation.

Several parents of our younger high school students have asked for another session in the spring.  I will contact you early next semester."

I just wanted to let you know about the colleges I was accepted into and thank you for all of your help. Here are the ones that I was accepted to:

  • Rice University
  • University of Southern California
  • Syracuse
  • Rensselaer
  • UT Austin
  • Texas A&M
  • Texas Tech

I got accepted into the architecture schools at all of these colleges. I am planning to go to Rice and I am very surpised that I was accepted (I found out this morning). I just want to thank you for all the time you spent helping me and the advice you gave me because I know that I couldn't have done it without you.

I wanted to thank you for the awesome talk on Sunday! My daughter was so motivated when we got home that she found the SAT Prep book and started studying! She thought you were the best speaker that we've ever had. Great newsletter, I look forward to receiving the next one via email.

I thought Sandra Steele was an awesome person to invite to the ticktocker meeting, and a wealth of knowledge. I haven't really had time to get started on Sara's college selection, but after that meeting, I am motivated!

"Hats off to [you] for planning and hosting an outstandingly top notch session for our students. It was the perfect segue to the TWCP meeting this evening that many were prepared for. To my knowledge, this is the second year in a row Ms. Steele has conducted a presentation of this type; no charge, knowing no one, simply to help the student community exceed and excel. And she certainly did not have to; the numbers are favoring the opposite gender, other ethnic backgrounds. She knew her audience, though, white male, mid to upper socioeconomic status and still made time for the group despite their rapidly declining college graduation numbers. One thing I was most impressed with is she volunteered to come back and speak to each one individually! If that is not dedication, I don’t know what would top it!"

"I wanted to thank you again for you time!!! It was very informative and got both boys and parents thinking!!! I've had a very positive response from the NCR group. Thank you again!!!"

"I did not want to let time pass without telling you how much I appreciate all of your help and support with [my son]. Your interest in our situation, your breadth of knowledge, your honest assessment of his capabilities and your warmth helped immeasurably in guiding us. I will be forever grateful to you for helping me see things a little clearer in looking at what he needs in this next step."
- Cindy

"I just wanted to let you know that Hilary and I were both offered full scholarships to Wofford. They are also going to pay for us to fly out there to visit the campus. Furman has offered me a very similar scholarship, so I am hoping to be able to see both campuses before making my final decision. I might need to meet with you to go over a few things if you have the time. Thank you very much for all of your help."
- Emily

"I just wanted to let you know that I am so glad that my parents hired you to help me out through this entire process. You helped me more than you think you did and I really feel that I have done everything I can to get into a nice college and now its up to me to make the grades."

"The students that Sandra Steele has referred to Converse have been excellent matches. She actually takes the time to get to know her student's and chooses colleges based on fit. As a result, her students have excelled and become a true asset to our campus. Their transition to Converse has been very smooth due to the amount of personal attention they have received from Mrs. Steele. She is professional, courteous, and always willing to go the extra mile for her students. Mrs. Steele has been a joy to work with in the past and I look forward to working with her in the future."

"Sandra prepares her students quite well for the college admissions process. Her parents and students know what questions to ask us on the college side. That sets a great tone and makes the process run very smoothly."

"I have known Sandra Steele for over 5 years. She has an innate ability to guidance counseling and the placement of students in colleges that best suit their immediate and long-term needs. As a high school counselor, Sandra kept a very close track on those students in her charge. This was an invaluable service due to the fact she would place students in courses based on their past class performance, learning ability, learning type, and future aspirations. She was also a great diagnostician who listened to the parents’ and teachers’ concerns about students. All in all, Sandra Steele is an exceptional education professional who was a blessing to Concordia Lutheran High School during her tenure here."
Juergen Schulz

"We have used Sandra Steele, both in her previous position at Concordia Lutheran High School and this year as an independent counselor. My comment is that you'll never miss a deadline using the services of Sandra Steele!"
Phoebe Lake

"There is so much to say about Sandra Steele. Sandra is one of the most professional people that I have had the privelege of knowing. She is very knowlegable on the subject matter is always continuing to educate and update herself in her areas of expertise. She takes a personal interest in her clients as she did with my daughter. As parents we could step back and watch her guide our daughter into taking responsibility and ownership or her college choices and all the work that was involved in making this possible. Under her guidance, my daughter has been successful in obtaining substantial scholarship assistance at the universities of her choice. I believe Sandra could be valuable to anyone pursuing college admission."
Hannah Cluiss

"Mrs. Steele has visited colleges all over the nation. She led me to my top two colleges of choice, which are outside of Texas. Had Mrs. Steele not been there to direct me to those schools, I would have never known about them or applied to them."
Lieschen Cluiss

"Saturday was a great start for John's college adventure. Thanks for all you are and all you do. We have great confidence in you, and know John is great hands for wading through this river!"
