Using her training and experience Sandra Steele is qualified to recognize educational puzzle pieces that can be put together in the right order enabling her clients to excel to new heights. Using the Irlen Method for Scotopic Sensitivity Screening she is able to identify challenges that have previously hindered success. Identifying these struggles as early as 5 years of age can lead to a more successful school experience for both the family and child. Sandra Steele's experience grows as your child grows. From an early age of identification and recognition to high school when they are preparing for college.

"The right choices during those crucial high school years are not always obvious and yet wrong choices can be crippling when it comes time to choose schools and submitting applications. That is why long-term education advising comes in. I work with families through the years preceding the college search process -- starting as early as junior high when possible -- to make certain that each student is maximizing his experiences and developing the best possible profile for college admissions." Families working with an Independent Educational consultant should expect a professional atmosphere where discussions focus on the student strengths and weaknesses, interest, needs and educational goals. The consultant recommends options and helps families weigh alternative of cost, financial aid, location, curriculum, and activities and institutional atmosphere.

Why should you use an Educational Consultant??

Consultants pride themselves on extensive first-hand knowledge of colleges, boarding schools, special program and enrichment programs ... big or small ... around the country. Educational consultants spend some 20% of their time on the road, meeting with admissions counselors, touring campuses and getting a "feel" for the environment.

  • Private counseling will help position a family to find the best sources of college funding.
  • 1/3 of all college students withdraw, quit or transfer. This is often the result of poor planning.
  • College selection will be one of the most important and costly decisions a family will make.
  • Professional help will cover the many subtle issues of this complex task.
  • An individualized, carefully developed, plan will give your student the best college admission experience.
  • Private counseling helps eliminate anxiety, concerns and mistakes.
  • The college Admissions process is in a constant state of change.
  • Private college counseling is equivalent in cost to private music lessons and may save you thousands of dollars.

When is the best time to begin using an Educational Consultant?

The best time to start the process is in the sophomore or early junior year, because then there is enough time to have the opportunity to decide which high school classes and activities will help the student in the long run.

Once the student is accepted; I also work with the family in completing the financial aid forms for all types of awards.

As an educational consultant, I have the resources and experience of other secondary educational options to offer a client.
