Physics Festival 2007

Please tell your students about this fun weekend! The Department of Physics of Texas A&M University invites everyone to Physics Festival 2007 Saturday and Sunday, April 14th and 15th. People of all ages will find funny, puzzling and fascinating hands-on experiments and everyone is encouraged to participate. The festival will begin Saturday at 6:30p.m. with a free public lecture by leading astrophysicist Rocky Kolb. There will be Hands on Science – an interactive science exhibition for kids of all ages Sunday from 3-7p.m. as well as several science contest throughout the day. Stephen Hawking Comes to TAMU

Please pass along this exciting opportunity to your students with an interest in the Sciences! World renowned black holes expert, Stephen Hawking will be at Texas A&M University. Texas A&M’s Department of Physics welcomes Professor Stephen Hawking, author of the all-time best seller “A Brief History of Time” and “The Universe in a Nutshell” to Texas A&M University. Professor Hawking, physicist and cosmologist will present the lecture The Origin of the Universe Sunday, April 15th at 2:30 p.m. in Rudder Auditorium. College of Liberal Arts – New Major

The College of Liberal Arts announces a new major! A Bachelor of Arts in Classics will be available for December 2007. The curriculum for a B.A. in Classics consists of 17 Student Credit Hours [SCH] of foundational language courses in either Latin or Greek, plus five courses (15 SCH) in Classical Studies, at least two of which (6 SCH) must be non-language courses. These 32 student credit hours must be taught in the EURO Department. A complete description of the new Classics major will appear in Undergraduate Course Catalog 130.
