Texas A&M University: "Aggies" on Wall-Street Texas A&M University The Finance Department of Texas A&M University's Mays Business School is pleased to announce Texas A&M University's Wall Street Campus - New York City.Approximately twenty students will travel to the "Big Apple" for intense real world education. What makes this course different from any other is that it is practitioner driven. The class is effectively taught by experts who practice what they are teaching and live or die by the results. Imagine learning from a bond arbitrageur who may have just made or lost $1 million that afternoon. The class is largely taught by Aggies for Aggies, as 2/3 of the modules benefit from Former Student participation! The vision of the Wall Street Campus lies with Texas A&M's Former Students, who have experienced the real world and want to give something back to impact the current students. The Wall Street Campus gives students a broad overview of different sectors of the financial world and provides a chance for students to network with established professionals. Although students may not grasp all the concepts at the time, they certainly take on heightened interest the next time they run across them in the classroom. Another intended result is to make students more knowledgeable and successful during the job interview process. Qualified students could easily use this experience as a platform to launch a Wall Street career. Regardless of the intended career path, this course will broaden horizons and expand the range of opportunities available. Prior classes have visited numerous firms. The following is a partiallist of firms that have previously participated in the program:
Topics that have been covered by experts at these various firms include:
In addition to hosting students in their offices and trading floors,Former Students have arranged events such as lunch at the Harvard Club, a chauffeur driven bus to see the World Champion New York Yankees, a family style Italian meal at Tony's Di Napoli, dinner at the ArgentineGrill, a Broadway show, and a dinner cruise around Manhattan Island. The class has also been feted by the New York City A&M Club.
