Defiance College: Collegiate Global Summit - "Collaborating to Impact Humanity"

The Collegiate Global Summit is a forum for students, faculty, and other campus leaders to address critical global issues. This year's theme, Collaborating to Impact Humanity, provides a forum for those interested in civic engagement in higher education. The conference will bring together students, faculty, staff, administrators, and community members to share their experiences about the partnerships they have formed in their efforts to impact humanity. It is the goal of this conference to allow for the exchange of ideas, best practices, and results for the purpose of developing the skills and resources necessary to improve the quality of life in our communities locally and around the world.

The 2007 Collegiate Global Summit is free and open to the public with registration by May 1. This event is planned and organized by the DC Citizen Leaders, Bonner Leaders, Honor students, and McMaster Scholars.

Keynote Speaker
Peter Phillips, Ph.D. is a Professor/Department Chair of Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored. He has published nine editions of Censored: Media Democracy in Action from Seven Stories Press. Also from Seven Stories Press is the Project Censored Guide to Independent Media and Activism. Project Censored is a media research group out of Sonoma State University. It tracks the news published in independent journals and newsletters to cover "the news that didn't make the news."

Proposal Information
This is an open invitation to participate in the 2007 Collegiate Global Summit. We encourage a variety of formats (individual presentation, panel, or workshop) for presentations and participation in this conference. Presentations will be selected based on connection to overall conference theme. Proposal deadline: April 23. Call for Proposals
