About Us
In her capacity as a guidance counselor, she performed the duties as an Advanced Placement Test coordinator, testing administrator for the ISSE entrance exam, and special services for children with learning differences and coordinated with the college financial aid specialists. Sandra is an active member of the Higher Educational Consultant Association , where she has served in several capacities, working to enhance access to higher education for all students. Her other professional affiliations include the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, the Attention Deficit Disorders Association - Southern Region, and a member of College Board. As a certified screener for Irlen Syndrome (scotopic sensitivity - a visual perception disorder) and a certified administrator/trainer of the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator and Campbell Interest and Skills Survey, she is qualified to recognize certain interest and aptitudes of students by combing their academic progress and these instruments. With all these pieces to the puzzle of choosing an education option, Sandra Steele, Educational Consultant, will match the student with the best educational alternative. The right choices during those crucial high school years are not always obvious and yet wrong choices can be crippling when it comes time to choose schools and submitting applications. That is where long-term education advising comes in. Mrs. Steele works with families through the years preceding the college search process - starting as early as junior high when possible - to make certain that each student is maximizing his experiences and developing the best possible profile for college admissions and for attaining college financial scholarships and/or aid. Families working with an Independent Educational Consultant such as Sandra Steele should expect a professional atmosphere where discussions focus on the student's strengths and weaknesses, interests, needs, and educational goals. The consultant recommends options and helps families weigh the cost, financial aid, location, curriculum, activities, and institutional atmosphere. Sandra Steele prides herself on extensive first-hand knowledge of certain colleges, special programs and enrichment programs ... big or small ... all around the country. Educational consultants spend some 20% of their time on the road, meeting with admissions counselors and financial aid administrators, touring campuses and getting a "feel" for the environment.
Mary keeps up with my calendar, making appointments, gathering workshop material, getting the student information into our software program and all the activities in handling the office All appointments should go through Mary and if you have questions or concerns, please give her a call at 281-807-2636.
